Types of Nasopharyngeal Cancer


  • Most of nasopharyngeal cancers are squamous cell carcinomas (flat, skin like cells that line the inside of the mouth, nose, larynx and throat)

 

  • According to World Health Organization (WHO), there are three subtypes of nasopharyngeal cancer:
    1. Keratinising squamous cell cancer (type 1)
    2. Non keratinising squamous cell cancer (type 2)
    3. Undifferentiated carcinomas (type 3)
